About MX Composites

MX Composites AB was founded in 2002 after several years of strategic collaboration between Saab AB, CSM Materialteknik AB and Centaur AB, three companies with complementary competencies and resources.

Since the mid 1990-ies, the three companies have been collaborating with the mission to develop methods and know-how in how to design and manufacture MMC components. MX Composites was founded with the purpose to exploit the methods and know-how and holds also the exclusive rights to the founders IPR related to MMC.

The High Speed Machining method developed and patented by Saab, making it possible to cost effectivly manufacture MMC components, is exclusivly licensed to MX Composites.The patent is granted in the USA and Europe.

In addition to the machining patent MX Composites also holds three application patents:

- Power transmission using slide bearings in MMC

- Bearing reinforcements in light metal housings using MMC

- Valve Mechanisms in MMC

MX Composites is today owned by Saab, Verdane Capital, Industrifonden and private investors.

Founders

Saab AB, the Swedish defence, aerospace and space group employing 12000, developing, manufacturing and marketing advanced products and services for the defence as well as the commercial market.

Centaur AB, a design and testing consultancy firm, employing 120 people and situated in Gothenburg, the Automotive cluster in Sweden.

CSM Materialteknik AB, a material technology consultancy firm, evolved from the Saab group, employing 100+ people. CSM is today part of the Bodycote group under the name Bodycote CSM.
